What are some fun or untraditional ways you burn calories?

I'm curious what other people are doing. I've recently been diagnosed with a knee disorder that I've apparently had since puberty so I've been doing some unusual exercises to lessen the knee pressure. It got me curious about what others are up to.

My top two right now are:

  1. Exercise ball "hula hooping". I sit on the ball in front of a chair with my phone playing my favorite show. My feet go firmly on the ground. I do hip circles first 1,000 one way, then 1,000 the other. The ball makes your body move more fluid and more than if you were sitting in just a regular chair. I also put my hands on the chair if I need stabilization. My PT actually recommended this for my back, although I'm going a bit wider with my movements. This works my waist, under thigh, and lower back areas.

  2. SOCK SKATING! I'm living in a house with wood floors for the first time, and just like the movies you can actually slide around! I feel like a kid in a candy shop! I pretend I'm ice skating or rollerblading. My heart rate goes up pretty high (170+) with this one, and it isnt slippery enough that I'm likely to fall or anything. And it's fun!
