Update: If it's not delicious dont eat it

Several months ago, I made this post https://www.reddit.com/r/loseit/comments/93tlef/if_its_not_delicious_dont_eat_it/?utm_source=reddit-android

I did not realize at the time how privileged of a position I took. I made the point that I will pass on foods that I felt are beneath me.

Since that post, I have been homeless, resorted to stealing left-over room service, going to food banks, and now receive food stamps. On the bright side, I lost ~40 pounds.

I cannot afford to look over food. I cannot afford to pass on anything that is offered for free. I cannot take a few bites and decide it's not delicious enough and not finish it. I cant always afford to make something delicious, so I settle for greasy fast food.

Poverty and obesity are inextricably linked. It is now much much harder to lose weight, because food independence is expensive. It is difficult to afford produce. Budget food is built on starches and whatever protein you can find. I cant imagine limiting my food because I dont know that I'll have enough for tomorrow.

The obesity crisis and the rising number of people under the poverty level are correlated. And its killing.
