TLDR: Chicken is on sale to make room for thanksgiving turkeys.
Hey guys this post is directed to those of us who used to or still believe that eating healthy is inaccessible to them due to cost. While this can be true on some, infrequent, occasions it is generally a myth. However, money is a finite resource for all of us and I know that there are lots of other things we would rather spend on, or save for, than food.
Meat of the post: go check your local supermarket for chicken breast on sale TODAY! With Thanksgiving around the corner (in the US) most grocery stores are having a sale on poultry products to make room for the massive amount of turkey they will be selling. I know for a fact that Publix stores (south-east US) is selling all chicken breast buy one get one free. I bought them out as soon as I saw them go on sale on Thursday and I’ve been waiting for them to restock but when I saw the whole turkeys take their usual spot in the isle it occurred to me that the sale was likely timed specifically for this reason. Which I why I also believe it will be a common trend across the country and not just my preferred chain. I currently have almost 30 pounds of chicken breast in my fridge (mostly frozen) and I only paid for half. Don’t miss out!
