I’ve been overweight since middle school and at some point I crossed into the obese category maybe 5-6 years ago, and only once about two years ago did I try to lose weight. At that time I cut my calories to about 400-600 per day, and between January-April of that year I lost 10 lbs before I decided it was too hard and quit. Now this year, I got pregnant at 230 lbs and weighed in at 277 lbs the day I went into labor. I dropped 27 pounds instantly, but then during my six weeks of recovery time I gained weight back. On November 6th when the doctor said it was okay to exercise, I weighed 252 lbs and started counting calories keeping at 2000 a day, exclusively breastfeeding, taking walks, and following postpartum YouTube exercise videos. I’ve now lost 10 pounds in less than a month, which took me 4 months to accomplish last time because I was trying to do it the “quick way” and just damaging my body more. Ten pounds doesn’t feel like that much when I still am obese and there’s so much further to go, but I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made and just wanted to share it.
