I hit a point I never thought I’d get to.

I was always thin growing up. Probably from always being outside with my friends and riding bikes and walking everywhere then after high school I joined the military and gained 10 pounds in basic, but they say it was muscle. Then I just kept going up in weight. When I joined the military I was 120 pounds. When I got out of basic training I was 130. I never thought I would ever hit 150.

Now here I am 9 years later and I hit 200 a week ago. I am only 5’1” so that’s a lot. I’ve always tried to lose weight and when I was in Afghanistan I got down to 143 from 176 but then got back and gained it all back plus some. I always lose then gain but now I know I need to do something about this. I want to love myself again and be better to my body.

I started eating better and cooking at home last weekend when I saw that number. My friends were all telling me “why would you start trying to lose weight the week of thanksgiving and right before Christmas?” Well I think it’s better to start when you realize you need to. Plus I won’t gain all the holiday weight. One day of eating with my family isn’t going to ruin everything.

I’ve always lurked on here. But now I think I need the support and motivation you guys provide.
